A NOTE FROM JESS: Acid/Base Balance is a homeostatic function of the human body. It is a principle that is taught in Medic, Nursing, and Medical Schools. It often takes students a while to understand the concept with all of its factors and diseases / illnesses that cause imbalances. Having a visualization of the basic fluctuation is a great jumping off point. I use this when I teach Acid/Base Balance in my Anatomy and Physiology class along with Acid/Base Tic-Tac-Toe. I have also used this in my ASU ASAP STEM lesson: Anatomy of Homeostasis.
