Identity Safe Classrooms

Identity safe classrooms are created by an infinite number of teaching strategies. No one strategy is sufficient to create an identity safe classroom, but a constellation of strategies, working together, can. Teachers need to start somewhere.

At the end of each chapter in their books (Identity Safe Classrooms Grades K-5: Places to Belong and Learn and Identity Safe Classrooms Grades 6-12: Pathways to Belonging and Learning), the authors offer activities that can be done to reflect on practice and explore both the concepts of identity safety and ways to begin to incorporate them into your practice.

You can download PDF versions of the activities through links on their site here: http://www.identitysafeclassrooms.com/activities
