got problems? let’s solve ’em Engineering Journal
From noticing problems to brainstorming solutions to testing prototypes, making modifications, and marketing a final product, this journal will walk students step-by-step through the engineering design process as it relates to solving a problem for a person, animal, or plant. Either use the entire journal or use the one pagers to tackle problems in bite-sized chunks. You can also use the “A Star Wars Experience for All” video as inspiration for students to identify and engineer a solution for a problem, just like the children in the video. A detailed lesson plan on our to use the journal coming soon!
If students are trying to engineer an existing model or product, the IDEAS Engineering Journal might be a better fit.
Consider using SCAMPER to help students brainstorm modifications to their prototypes.
